Trendy Spring Hair Styles

Hair styles come in and go out as quickly as they came in. Last year in particular I recall a spring hair style trend that never caught on; for me it never did anyway.

Last year girls were dyeing their hair 3 bold mismatched tones, and honestly it looked like crap. You had girls walking around everywhere with black, blond, and brown highlights. It looked like a hot mess, and my calico cat would even point and laugh if she could.

A lot of different trends have come and gone, and likely this years hottest spring looks will be out before August. For those interested though, the new look to die for is the big bangs look.

Many stars have been sporting this look. It has a very glamorous retro go-go girl look about it, but at the same rate, it's still just another one of them trends. It comes, it goes, and you will die laughing when you see yourself in old photographs sporting this look.

The big bangs are pretty easy to get though if you are interested. I wouldn't suggest cutting your bangs yourself; go to a salon and have a professional cut your hair for you.

When it comes to big thick bangs; the look only seems to look good on those with pin straight hair. If you've got a natural wave or curly hair, don't even think about chopping yourself bangs!

One spring trend that comes around nearly every year is highlights. I personally like dyeing my hair according to the season. In the winter months I go very dark, and as spring approaches I slowly lighten my hair up by adding subtle highlights.

Adding highlights is simple to do by yourself. I suggest though having a Friend help you because it can be difficult to do yourself. In order to do it yourself, you'll need a lightening dye. I have always used L'Oreal Excellence Blonde Supreme Creme Haircolor, Blonde Supreme, Extra Light Ash Blonde 01 (it's the box with the model that looks like Paris Hilton).

I then purchase a dye cap and a hair hook. You pull small strands of hair through the cap, and only color the strands of hair you pull through.

The reason I use the above hair dye is because it does not streak or leave strands uneven. I have used expensive dye kits with horrible results, so I suggest highly using the above dye.

With this particular dye you can get blond results, or you can simply lighten dark hair to a lighter brown honey color, depending on how long you let the dye sit for.

It is a trend that has never really gone out of style. It's simple, and natural looking.

For fool proof highlights you could also just hit up you local hair salon. I know adding highlights though can get pretty pricey. Last year my highlights done at a professional salon came to $90.00.

Short hair is always in fashion during warmer spring months. I don't recommend short hair for everyone though, but as of now the bob cut is still very much 'in', as well as the pixie cut.

The bob cut can be seen on Katie Holmes and her beautiful daughter Suri. It really accentuates those with tear drop shaped heads, and is gorgeous looking.

The pixie look is somewhat more boyish, and I don't like the look at all. Lindsay Lohans girlfriend Samantha Ronson sports a pixie like boy cut. It looks swell on her, but then again, she looks like a boy.

For those of you not looking to chop off your long beautiful locks, you can add spring trend to your hair simply by adding a chunky head band. Cloth bands from Coach, or plastic bands from Walmart are always trendy. The newest look is buying a band with a cloth flower sitting to the side. It pulls hair together, adds design to hair, and will never really go out of style. Nicole Richie is famous for scarf bands, which are also very pretty.

Nicole sometimes wears her headband over her forehead which is also extremely flattering. Click to view.

The final trendy style for 2009 is the messy look. Ever since the unkempt hair of actors in the hit flick Twilight surfaced, the messy tresses have been a must have look for both men and women alike.

Like most trends that come and go, this look is sure to be one to hit the high road pretty fast. I can't say I'll miss it either.
