Erratic Static Winter Hair? - Quick and Easy Static Fixers

My hair has always been naturally thick and wavy, with an occasional pop up of frizz. During winter months however I tend to straighten my hair a lot due to the fact that it is less humid, and frizz is less likely to pop up in my world. Straightening hair however dries it out, which in turn is like telephoning Static itself and inviting it over.

Static becomes a problem in the winter time for many, but it is also an issue thats easily tamed with a few inexpensive products.

I find that by adding a glosser to my hair, and then brushing, my hair is actually more prone to static fly-aways. I have no idea why, but my first tip would be to avoid high beam glossing products if static is a problem for you.

Also by brushing your hair with a bristle brush, static is more likely to develop. I use a pin toothed brush to solve that issue. If you don't have one, then I highly recommend buying one. Pin bristles are also healthier on hair; where bristles ones can actually create frizz, breaks, split ends, and of course static.

You can pick up a nice Conair pin bristle brush at Walmart for around $6.00.

Besides choosing the right brush though, you will also want to check out a few products that are specially designed to keep hair healthy in harsher cold winter months.

A company by the name of DStat actually sells hair care products designed specifically at combating winter static hair. They sell their products in either a hair spritzing form, or by using a static relief towelette. Click here to view products, or to place an order.

For the most part static hair basically makes its presence known when the hair is extremely dry. Instead of buying expensive static relief products, you can actually treat your hair so static won't become an issue. By adding lots of moisture to your hair you can combat static in its tracks. You can do this by using simple products like moisturizing shampoos or conditioners.

I find that Pantene Pro V Moisturizing products work the best. For around $5.00 you can purchase shampoo and conditioner, to add lots of healthy moisturization to dry locks. Their hydrating rinse works wonders, and will do a pretty good job at keeping static out of your hair- click to view.

Leave in conditioners are also super effective at keeping hair static free. Infusium 23 is one of my favorites, because it is also nourishing to the hair. Their leave in treatment moisturizing formula is one that you will want to try during winter months.

If you're still having issues after using the above products, than definitely go with the DStat products.
