About 3 months ago I discovered the absolute best eyeshadow, and believe it or not, it is a cream shadow paint.
In the past I have used cream shadows and never got good results with
them. Being the fan of L'Oreal that I am though, I had to at least give
their new line of HIP Cream Shadow Paints a try. I fell in love with
them, and went on a hunt to obtaining every color that they had to
offer.
One of my recent finds goes to L'Oreal HiP High Intensity Pigments Cream Shadow Paint, Lofty.
I nearly skipped on Lofty though because it seemed a little too light,
and too similar to my own skin color. I figured it would not do
anything for me. At the same time though, I also thought that it would
brighten my upper lids directly under my eyebrows allowing my eyes to
look brighter and more cheery than usual.
The color is practically nude, with a very, very subtle hint of pink/peach.
Packaging:
All of the L'Oreal Cream Shadow Paints come packaged in a clear
plastic package. In the package L'Oreal adds of course the shadow, a
shadow brush, and a small squared off area for you to add the paint to
for application.
You simply squeeze a small amount of the shadow into this area, use
the brush, and apply. It is simple, and everything you need comes right
in the package. With the handy paint dish built into the compact, you
can even take this stuff on the go.
My Use:
After applying some Steely Cream Paint to my lower lid, I then went ahead with Lofty.
The color blends easily, but like my first impression of it, it was
far too matching to my own skin color, and I could barely notice it was
even on.
Although it blends easily on it's own, it does not blend easy with
other L'Oreal Cream Shadow Paints. In fact if you apply one color, you
better hurry up and apply the second, because as soon as it dries, it
does not budge.
Adding more than one layer will also result in chunking streaks.
Overall:
Although Lofty was not the color for me, those with darker skin tones
would really enjoy this one, as it would brighten upper lids. Those with
lighter skin tones though may want to just skip on this one, because
like I said, the color will barely even show through.
My final note would be not to combine colors unless they are still
creamy on the eye. They will ruin the look if you try to blend while
dry.
