I recently have been using L'Oreal Sublime self-tanners in attempt to
keep my tropical vacation tan in check. Surprisingly the self-tanners
work really well! Still, though, I wanted to make sure I used a
foundation that matched my new, tan skin tone. The one's I had already
were way too pale, and did not match well with my skin tone anymore.
I picked up Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in the shade Tan. A
finger test in the store proved that this foundation was the closest
match I was going to find.
Besides promising to Stay put on my face, the rack the foundation was
placed in stated that this particular foundation was made for those with
oily/shiny skin. Seeing how I am at times plagued with both, I was
pretty excited to give this new brand a shot. I however wondered if the
formula would dry out my skin, because many foundations I have used for
oily/shiny skin types dries out skin and the ugly results begin to show
in a few hours as a layer of thick clay.
Packaging:
Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - Tan comes in a glass stand up
bottle, with 1 full ounce of foundation within the bottle. The top is
black and pops off revealing a neat push down pump applicator. I like
the pump applicators way more than the screw off lids because they keep
things neat. I dislike pumps like this though because it never allows
you to pump out ALL of the formula, especially when you are running low.
A lot of the foundation gets wasted at the bottom.
Color:
The color was actually near perfect to my own tan skin tone, and I
loved it. Even if you purchase the tan color, do know that it blends
well to match many different skin tones. This particular color though I
would recommend to those who have a medium tan skin tone.
My Use:
Once on my face though I found that it matched a little too
closely, and once blended into my skin I realized that it did not
provide full coverage. That small imperfections that my usual foundation
could hide, Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - Tan, had a difficult
time hiding.
Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - Tan, did smooth out my skin
though, and give it a younger more balanced and even tone. I wish that
it would have covered the reddish colored bump on my face (yeah, a
flippin pimple!) though.
Although Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - Tan does not do a
spectacular job at hiding imperfections, it did in fact stay put for the
entire day, and did not smudge, cake up, dry out my skin, or look
unnatural. This was a major plus! I literately had flawless looking skin
for my entire work day (except for the flippin pimple!).
Overall:
I like it. Although it does not provide the best coverage, it
still made my skin look smooth, younger, and best of all my skin looked
natural. Even close up you could not tell I was wearing foundation at
all.
Recommended:
Yes! This one is for those of you who like a flawless smooth look,
without having your face turn to cake by the time the day is over.
Availability:
You can pick up a tube of Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - Tan at
any local Target. The foundation comes in other shades of color as well,
so check them out, and buy the one that best suits your skin tone.
