After getting back from my vacation in the Bahamas, I had a killer tan.
But my skin is odd, and as lovely as my tan looks, it never ever lasts
long. Before I know it, I watch as the tan fades, and my skin goes back
to it's natural, pasty-white color.
I discovered a self tanning line by L'Oreal which I fell in love with
about 3 weeks ago called Sublime Bronze, and ever since I have been
picking up different products within the line.
The most recent product was the lines self-tanning lotion which is properly labeled as L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15 Light-Medium Natural Tan.
The lotion comes in a golden orange colored stand up plastic bottle,
with it's name labeled on the front of the bottle. It;'s pretty easy to
find so long as you are looking in the right place. You won't find it
down the cosmetics isles with other L'Oreal products, instead L'Oreal
Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15 Light-Medium Natural Tan will
be placed next to the tanning products, such as sun block, or tanning
oils.
The Promise:
According to the back of the bottle, using L'Oreal Sublime Bronze
Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15 Light-Medium Natural Tan will not only
protect skin from the suns harmful rays with it's SPF 15, but it will
also protect and soothe skin with it's included vitamin E.
Now on other Sublime Bronze products by L'Oreal, I was able to see
results very quickly. Most products promised to show a difference in 1
hour. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15 Light-Medium
Natural Tan though does not, it simply states that the results will be 1
or 2 skin tones darker than your own.
My Use:
I clicked open the click up cap and squeezed a decent amount of the
lotion into my palm. The color of the lotion was an almond white, and it
had a scent to it, which was very subtle. I hoped though that it would
not leave that sickening self-tanner scent behind that most tanners do.
I applied some to my face and neck, making absolute sure that I rubbed
it in well, and didn't miss a spot. I also applied to my stomach, legs
and arms. The scent was subtle, but not disgusting. I was able to smell
it though only very briefly, because as soon as the lotion absorbed, I
no longer detected the scent.
The lotion absorbs fast, which was a plus. It also does not leave
behind a greasy texture, nor did it feel like it would clog my pores or
cause break outs.
Anyhow, an hour passed, and I saw no tone changes! I figured the lotion would likely take longer to see result.
I applied again before bed, and woke up in the morning to check out my
(hopefully) new tan. Unfortunately my face, neck and other areas only
took a very subtle change in color tone. I also noticed that my lovely
tan was looking a little orange and fake, than it did naturally sun
baked. Gag! I was pretty shocked too, because all of the other products I had used in the line worked flawlessly.
Overall:
Sorry gals, L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15
Light-Medium Natural Tan only delivers a subtle tan, and it looks to
orange and fake. It also left streaks behind.
I plan on returning this one and buying the L'Oreal Tanning
Towelettes. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion SPF 15
Light-Medium Natural Tan was not worth the $8.95 I spent on it.
