When I came across new Olay Definity Color Recapture, I nearly left it on the shelf the moment I realized that the price of this foundation was $22.50!
I have spent more on foundation, but usually those foundations come
from high end specialty stores, and not a superstore like Walmart or
Target.
The new Olay Definity Color Recapture reminded me so much of that new
CoverGirl & Olay foundation in the cute compact. I was hoping it
wasn't the same thing, only packaged differently!
Olay Definity Color Recapture comes in a tall plastic stand up tube
which contains what looks like some sort of gel, foundation, and white
cream that swirls up throughout the bottle. It's quite catchy to the eye
and looks like something only science could have put together.
I flipped the package over to get a read of what exactly this
expensive foundation could do for me. According to the package that the
foundation comes in, using Olay Definity, Color Recapture will give skin
an immediate sheer illuminating coverage to the skin, it will also
combat lines, wrinkles, and discoloration on the skin.
It sounded good. I don't have all too many wrinkles but I have always
been told to protect my skin from it in order to savor every last drop
of youth. I've been using wrinkle creams since I was a kid. The pay-off
has been kind. Hehe!
At any rate though, I do have discolorations in my skin. My cheeks
tend to stay redder than the rest of my face, and even though I take
damn good care of my skin, I still get breakouts, and dry patches around
my nose.
I went ahead and bought Olay Definity, Color Recapture in the light/medium color.
Once I got home, I first washed my face, and gave the new foundation a
go. I figured I'd either love it or hate it. If I didn't love it, I was returning it!
I opened the package, and removed the tube. I then removed the cap and
squeezed down on the pump. The liquid squeezed out in a nice near
fluffy texture. The formula within the tube mixed together well and
created a nice light medium coloring cream for my face.
It was a little greasy feeling at first, and the coverage truly, truly
sucked. It barely covered the discolorations, nor did it hide the one
ugly red blemish I had on my cheek. It made my skin look extremely oily
and shiny, and I hated it on the first go.
I left it on my face though, and my mind totally changed after doing so.
I went about my business not even thinking about the foundation I
applied hours prior, and then I caught my face in a mirror and was very,
very shocked at what I saw.
My skin looked healthy, it had a fresh glow, my skin tone was
completely even, and best of all this look I was now sporting looked
completely natural. There were no obvious thick lines of foundation, no
dry patches on my skin, and no annoying discolorations!
It was as if the foundation spread itself across my entire face like a web of fabulousness after I applied it.
Initially I hated it. I hated the shine, the greasy feeling, and of
course the high price. After letting it sit on my face though, it seemed
to have did it thing, and damn did it do its thing well!
After seeing such spectacular results after just one use, I decided to keep it.
I have been using Olay Definity, Color Recapture all weekend, and have fallen in love.
For a really natural flawless look, I first apply this, and then I
apply a very light coat of light medium pressed powder from MAC. The two
combined give me a fresh glow all day long.

I definitely recommend it. It works better than those $30.00
foundations I had used in the past, so the $22.50 was money well spent.
