I was recently given two new hair products to try. Unfortunately, both
of them came with the included benefit of added volume. Seeing that I
already have really thick hair, I was really hesitant to give it a try.
With thick hair like mine, whenever I try a hair care product that
promises added volume, I end up with added frizz.
TIGI, however, is a company that I have used for years, and I've liked
them for years. I've never suffered bad hair days with TIGI, so I went
ahead and gave their Superstar Shampoo for Thick Massive Hair a try.
Scent:
The shampoo itself smelled really nice, and it matched perfectly to
the sister conditioner. The shampoo has a very nice and fresh red
delicious spiced apple scent to it. It's clean, fresh, and one that I
would use again and again. The shampoo does not come with a described
scent on the bottle, so for those curious, that was the initial scents I
personally got from it. Apple and cinnamon. A fresh fall scent, but one
you could enjoy year round.
My Use:
In the shower I first wet my hair, and then squeezed out about a
handful's worth of the shampoo. It's clear, with a very light antiqued
orange coloring to it. The consistency was relatively thick, and when I
rubbed it into my hair it produced a very thick and soothing lather.
After rinsing it actually left my hair feeling moisturized. Usually
whenever I use shampoo, no matter what company made it, or what promise
is attached to it, it will leave my hair feeling dry to the bone.
Conditioner usually fixes the parched feeling. However when I used
Superstar Shampoo for Massive Thick Hair, I was surprised to feel that
it had left my hair feeling moisturized as if I had just used a
conditioner, and not a shampoo.
I liked it already!
Results:
I let my hair air dry as I usually do after getting out of the shower.
As my hair dried the added volume was not really recognized. I was
happy though with the scent it left behind, and how manageable and soft
my hair felt afterward.
I did not suffer any dry feeling hair, nor was there frizz.
All in all I like the shampoo, and would recommend it if you want to
add moisture, delicious scent, and manageability to your locks. It
however will not volumize your hair all too much.
I recommend it still though, and would give this one 3 out of 5 stars.
