Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner

Not too long ago my mother and I received a large bag of beauty supplies from my uncle. He works with clients in the city whom give him products all of the time, in this bag filled with gobs of goodies we came across 15 to 20 small sample sized aluminum packets of Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner.

Neither of us had a clue what they were, or how they would benefit us, but we knew one thing, they were cloth, and they were saturated in this toner, most likely it was something for our face! Duh.

The Promise:

According to the back of this packet, extracts of Korean Ginseng, Quillaja Wood, and Sweet Betty Flower are key ingredients in the toner that will revitalize, and remove any last traces of facial cleanser.

Interesting? I never thought about traces of facial cleanser being left behind after rinsing! Now I knew!

My Use:

I ripped open the package and was pretty surprised to note that the white cloth that was saturated wet in the toner had not a trace of fragrance. To me it seemed like a wet cloth soaked in water.

Before using Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner, I first washed my face with one of my favorite facial cleansers. After rinsing thoroughly and patting dry, I then began rubbing the toner into my skin.

Immediately I noticed a semi greased up texture left behind that I was not too keen with. I normally have combination oily/dry skin, and anything oily that goes onto my face I usually react badly to (acne).

Not only that, greasy textured products on your skin just feel nasty in general. I usually skip on anything that leaves behind a greasy feeling.

After I was done soaking up all of the tonic in my skin, I waited for it to dry. I was hoping it would dry leaving my skin feeling clean and refreshed... not oily and over moisturized.

Unfortunately it was not the case. My skin felt semi unnatural, with a layer of residue that I could clearly feel left behind on mu skin. To better put it; it felt thick.

Overall:

For me personally I did not like Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner in the least bit. I would have perhaps liked it more had it not left behind the odd textured residue. Although I did not break out from using it, I still did not like how it left my skin feeling.

Pricing and Availability:

You can purchase a 7 ounce spray bottle of Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner for $33.00. I however would skip. That's just me though. I was not able to locate sample sized wipes, so you are pretty much stuck buying the larger sized bottle for that price.
