Formal Summer Hair Styles

Whether it be a company BBQ, a summer wedding, or a formal event, you likely landed here because you are looking for a nice formal look for your hair.

Summer months are pretty hot, so you want something that will keep the hair off of your neck, and out of your face. You want elegant without overdoing it! Believe me honey, we have all been in the same boat.

You do not want to out do the bride. If you were invited to a wedding, you want to wear your hair in a nice formal updo, but you will want to skip out on the rhinestone clips, beads, or pearls. Today is the BRIDES day; too many women seem to forget that, and I have actually been to weddings where some of the guests looked more pulled together than the bride.

It's nice to look nice, but you certainly do not have to steal the limelight (unless you want to that is).
This comfortably loose curled updo would be perfect.

This updo is for the bride!

The loose curled updo is can also be worn to the company BBQ, or to a simple formal event. It is elegant, but at the same time it is fun, but not immature.

Another summertime formal style includes a nice sleek tight side bun. Instead of hiding your bun behind your head, let it hang slightly to the side, as seen here.

You can leave the bun as is, or you can add a very small clip with rhinestones. Do not over do it in the rhinestone department though.

You can also wear your hair back with a raised bump at the top. You can achieve this look by using new as seen on TV Bumpits.

Wearing it back like this adds a nice formal and elegant look to your hair. Although I wouldn't recommend a simple look like this for a wedding, it is perfect for company picnics or BBQ's. You can let the hair in the back fall loose, or you can tie hair back. Either way, the bump is a simple, quick, do it yourself formal look.

Curling your hair and letting it hang loose is also a quick simple formal style. You can do it yourself with some hair gel in damp hair, and scrunching. You can also clip back the curly locks for a more pulled together formal look.

Adding a rhinestone or beaded headband to your curly locks also add a nice formal tough to the look.
Steer clear of messy flowing hair, and tying your hair back in a lazy pony tail. Everything else will be formal enough. For weddings, you can add very subtle accessories, but do not over do it. For company picnics or BBQs, steer clear of adding too many flashy accessories in your hair.
