John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo: Review

Those of us who already know about Walmarts lovely little free samples web-page may of gotten the opportunity to try out John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo. I was one of them. Quickly fill out a brief little survey, add your name, your address, and a month or so later you have a free sample in your mailbox waiting for you to try. Well last night John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo arrived at my door. Packed with not only a conditioner, but a style sealant cream as well. The focus today though is on the shampoo.

Normally John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo would come in a stand up bottle, with a standard click up cap that resembles a V05 bottle in ways. Mine however came in an aluminum tear package. Enough supply for one use.

Seeing how our weather for the entire week called for rain, humidity, and hot weather all in one, I knew my hair would pay the ultimate price. It did of course, and the result from the crappy weather was frizz, puff, and knots.

According to John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo's promise, this stuff was made to combat just that. Nasty weather. Basically the shampoo when combined with the rest of the Weather Proofing collection will protect your hair from humidity, while smoothing it out, protecting hair from UV, and static. Yep, this stuff weather proof's your hair, for all types of weather.

Scent:

In the shower I ripped open the package, and squeezed out the contents. The shampoo is a really pretty sea pearl color, where it is transparent and pearly at the same time.

As soon as the shampoo hit my palm I was able to smell the fresh clean subtle scent that it gave off. Unfortunately though it was a little too weak for my liking. I like shampoos and bath products that freshen up my entire surroundings; overwhelming scents are what I look for mostly.

John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo had no scent that I could pick out, nothing floral; just clean mild scent. Like detergent with tons of water added to soften the scent.
I'd rate it 3 stars out of , simply because the scent is far too weak.

Lather:

The lather was generous, adding tons of soft silky bubbles to my locks, making it easy to spread even this small sample around on a full thick head of hair like mine.

Results:

After rinsing my hair was left feeling extremely moisturized. A very good shampoo when it comes to moisturization. Sadly though after showering, and using the other products that they gave me, my hair when dry was left puffy, frizzy and had even more body than I needed. My hair is normally thick, so adding body to thick hair as us with thick hair know; is a major no no.

Overall:

My hair was left frizzy and puffy, worse than before I had even began using John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo. I do however think that this stuff would be great for those with thin hair looking for some bounce, because boy oh boy does it give you bounce... in that frizzy nappy kind of way.

It was a disappointing experience, because as moisturizing as John Frieda, Weather Works Weather-Proofing Daily Shampoo felt in the shower, I imagined it would leave my hair looking and feeling fabulous. This was not the case. After drying, my hair still felt/looked dirty.

Sorry, John... it's a no.
