L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Acne Response Daily Adult Acne Regimen - 3 Step System

I don't suffer from a lot of acne, but still at my age it is not uncommon for my face to have bouts of depression; days where I wake up and out of nowhere my forehead and cheeks have broken out with pimples.

Most creams only do so much and acne medications are too harsh on my skin. Most do nothing but dry not only the pimple out, but my entire face of any moisturization. The result is usually a dry, tight and unnatural feeling skin.

I came across L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Acne Response Daily Adult Acne Regimen - 3 Step System recently for a whopping deal of only $3.00 on sale at my local Walmart on a clearance rack. I grabbed 2 of the kits, one for me, and one for my mother who at 46, still suffers from break outs.

Normally this kit would cost $24.00, so I felt like it was the deal of a facial lifetime. If it worked well, marvelous. If not, it was only a $6.00 loss for both kits so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Out Of The Box:

I got home and opened up the box. The kit consists of 3 easy to use products. The first being a facial cleanser labeled Pore Clearing Cleanser , the second a facial skin toner which is labeled Skin Clarifying Toner, and the third product was a tube of lotion labeled Blemish Fighting Lotion.

The directions were pretty simple and only asked that you rinse your face with the cleanser and pat your skin dry (step 1). After using the cleanser you are to then blot your face with the toner (step 2) using a cotton ball. After applying the toner wait for it to dry for a hot minute, and then apply a thin layer of the lotion.

3 steps, and you are done.

I didn't waste any time. I went into the bathroom and squeezed some of the cleanser out into my hand. I recently have been stressing about flying on a plane which I fear, and my face definitely has shown the signs of the stress by breaking out.

Anyhow, the cleanser itself is a pasty textured white colored creme, with obvious grains of scrub in it, in order to provide a deeper cleanse into the pores.

I wet my face and rubbed the cleanser into my skin. It felt extremely harsh and had a pretty nasty chemical scent to it. My skin though it not very sensitive so I was able to use the scrub without any issues. Those with sensitive skin though may not like this one at all.

After rinsing my skin definitely felt clean, and tight. Possibly too tight though, and I could tell that this would dry my face out. I was hoping the step 2 toner, and step 3 lotion would balance things out and allow my skin to feel normal again.

Once I dried up, I then blotted the toner on. The toner does not really have a scent to it, and it actually feels like blotting water on to your face. I allows the toner to dry on my face for about a minute before applying the lotion.

Once dry my skin still felt pretty dry and tight and the toner didn't really help much after using the cleanser.

Afterward I then applied a thin layer of the lotion on to my face. The lotion absorbed extremely fast, and left my skin feeling very, very tight. I thought the lotion would balance things out and moisturize my skin but instead, it dried my face out even more. The scent also smelled just like the Clearsil Acne Creams I used to use as a teenager.

An hour later I rubbed my face and residue did in fact come off of it, I imagined though that this was dried up dead skin mixed with the drying lotion. At any rate though it was pretty gross. Looking into a mirror my skin looked completely parched, and I had dry patches on my forehead, chin and nose. L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Acne Response Daily Adult Acne Regimen - 3 Step System is some truly harsh stuff!

I wanted it mainly to rid my face of recent break outs, and I wanted it to keep my skin free of future break outs, however the system is so harsh on my skin that honestly I'd rather deal with a pimple here and there, than to have dry flaky skin, and seriously after just two days of using it my skin was left looking like it was peeling from a minor sun burn.

The pimples I wanted it to rid me of were still present only not as large as they originally were 2 days prior, so I imagine if you can rough it out with dry skin, L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Acne Response Daily Adult Acne Regimen - 3 Step System would work in a speedy manor at ridding your face of pimples, and future break outs. Those with sensitive skin though, or dry skin would want to skip on this kit entirely.

All in all, L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Acne Response Daily Adult Acne Regimen - 3 Step System works, but it does take a toll on the overall health of your skin by drying it out and causing it to flake.
You decide which you would prefer, flaky dry skin, or acne?
