I love body washes, shower gels, and anything else that I can possibly
use in the shower that will enhance the experience. I use different
scents when I am in a certain mood, but sometimes I use them to put me
in a mood.
When I came across a decent sized bottle of Malibu Sweet Scents Orange Truffle Creme Hemp Moisturizing Body Wash at my local Walmart for only $3.50 I picked up the bottle and gave the contents a sniff.
The gorgeously labeled bottle was initially what grabbed my attention.
Its colorful orange label pops. It is bold, and screams 'pick me up and smell me' as you try and pass it by.
I'm truly a sucker for pretty labels; like books, I too judge my shower gels based on it's cover.
Scent:
What greeted me was a scent I had known from my childhood, and a scent
I could not deny. It smelled like an orange creamsicle bar, and by
golly it was delicious!
The more I inhaled, the more and more it reminded me a lot of a scent
that I knew I had used before in the Bath & Body Works Temptation
collection... yet this bottle wasn't going to cost me $10.00, like Bath
& Body Works washes would.
Malibu Sweet Scents Orange Truffle Creme Hemp Moisturizing Body Wash
is made with actual Hemp oils which will leave the skin nicely
moisturized, and soft
(we shall see, we shall see).
My Use:
In the shower I squeezed out a decent amount of the gel into my loofah and went to work.
The gel itself is a very light and pearly colored orange which is very
pretty when you first get a look at it. As soon as you begin scrubbing
the gel into your skin though it creates a very thin and lack luster
layer of foam, which felt nice on my skin, but was not too moisturizing
or silky like most washes I have used.
The worst thing about it though was not the lack of bubbles, or silky
feeling texture, but it was the fact that the scent died down to nearly
nothing. I barely was able to detect the overwhelming delicious orange
creamsicle scent that I had smelled initially at the store. It seemed as
soon as it hit warm water, and foamed up it no longer gave off the
delicious childhood scent. This sucked, because the creamy orange scent
was mainly why I bought it in the first place (that, and the lovely
label).
Anyhow, with that aside I rinsed off and my skin felt pretty normal.
Malibu Sweet Scents Orange Truffle Creme Hemp Moisturizing Body Wash
washed off without leaving any residue behind, which was a plus; however
it did not leave my skin feeling clean or soft, or even a little bit
moisturized. My skin just felt the same way it always does.
Overall:
Blah! Malibu Sweet Scents Orange Truffle Creme Hemp Moisturizing Body
Wash smells fantastic in the bottle, once you take it into the shower to
use it though it turns into a weak body wash that will fail to impress.
I suggest you skip on this one, even though it is really cheap and the pretty label may tell you another convincing story.
Where To Buy:
You can (if you still want) pick up a bottle of Malibu Sweet Scents
Orange Truffle Creme Hemp Moisturizing Body Wash at local Walmart
stores. I have never seen this brand being sold elsewhere, so I'm taking
a guess when I say that Walmart is the only place that sells it. You
may also find it being sold online.
