Recently, I was given a giant bundle of Lush goodies. Of course I choose
all of the goodies, but thanks to Christmas I didn't actually have to
pay for them myself. I was pretty much given a $200 limit, to go nuts on
the site, and order things I wanted so long as I didn't go over the
limit.
It's a Date Bubble Bar was one of the items I decided to try out for size.
It's a Date Bubble Bar looked really pretty on the site, a deep, deep
pink color, with a giant date squished into the top of the bubble bar. I
could have done without the gooey piece of fruit, but if the date
weren't present, likely it'd be called something else.
In person, It's a Date Bubble Bar looks exactly like the pink gem on
the Lush.com website, with the yucky brown date on top and all.
I peeled the bubble bar from the clear plastic wrap it came in and
inhaled the scent. It's a Date smelled like must, and raisins. A nice
scent, but it was also a very faint and weak scent. I hoped that as soon
as I crumbled the bubble bar up under running water the scent would
maybe get stronger, like most Lush bath products do when you put them in
the water.
I ran a bath, and crumbled It's a Date up under the water. I only used
half the bar though, because I find that using an entire 3.5 ounce
bubble bar is wasteful, especially seeing that you usually get puh-lenty
of bubbles with just half a bar.
As soon as I began crumbling It's a Date, the bubbles naturally piled
up on top of one another, creating a gorgeous sea of bubbles. The musky
scent also filled the room, which was heavenly.
After climbing into the tub, I noticed that the water turned a light
pink color, which was pretty and fitting for a date night.
The musk scent grew weak, but the bubbles stood long and strong. The
water; although pink, did not turn silky or soft like most Lush bubble
bars do, which was a slight damper on the date.
After climbing out of the bath, I did feel clean and refreshed, but the nice feminine scent of musk was not detectable.
Overall:
It was not a bad date, but it certainly was not a great one either.
Odds are though; I wouldn't go out with this one again. Hehe.
