Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub with Gentle Microbeads

I have grown really fond of Oil of Olay's facial cleansing products this past year. In the past, I stayed away from Olay because I found that whenever I used something by them, I'd wake up with breakouts.

Lately though they have surprised me with product after product that actually improved the overall feel and appearance of the skin on my face.

It's no shocker that when I came across Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub with Gentle Microbeads that I ended up shelling out the $7.00 for it.

The scrub promised to not only smooth my skin in just one wash, but it also vouched to deeply clean and rejuvenate my skin as well.

The promise was decent, and I was confident that the product would work as suggested.

When I got home I went to use it right away to rinse of my days makeup, and to see if it would smooth my skin in just one use.

I clicked open the cap, wet my face, and squeezed some of the scrub into my palm. Immediately I could notice the rough texture of the formula, and I was able to see the tiny teal colored microbeads scattered throughout the scrub.

Initially I thought the gentle scrub would be painful because it had an overall consistency of clay, grit and sand. However once I got to working it onto my face I realized that it was in fact gentle, as promised.

The scent was a bit lack luster which was odd because most of Olays cleansers have really addicting fresh scents to them. Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub with Gentle Microbeads though had a chemical tone to it that was neither harsh, nor interesting.

After rubbing the scrub into my face really well, I then splashed my face a few times to rinse my skin of any residue left behind. The scrub washed off easily, but my skin did not feel very smooth. In fact it felt tight.

My skin was left feeling very clean, but as far as becoming smoother, the result was just not there.

I went about the rest of the afternoon and noticed that my skin was oil free for the rest of the day since using the scrub. This was a major plus because I have combination dry/oily skin. My forehead in particular though always ends up shiny in just a few short hours after cleaning my face. After using the scrub though there were no shine spots, so I was really happy with that fact.

Overall:

Although Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub with Gentle Microbeads did not leave my skin feeling all that smooth, it did in fact manage to keep my usually shiny face clear of shine for the rest of the day.

I highly recommend this one to those who suffer from oily shine spots on their face. Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub with Gentle Microbeads seems to take care of the issue.
For the $7.00 I spent on it, I feel it was a pretty good find!
