Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner: Review

My boyfriend must have gotten totally overwhelmed when he rang me from his cell phone from our local Target to ask if I needed anything. I told him to pick me up some conditioner because I was almost out.

What did he come home with?

Not one bottle of Pantene Pro-V Restoratives; but 3. All 3 of the new Pro-V Restoratives. He claimed he didn't know which one I needed for my hair, so he bought them all. Odd, but he had just met his favorite UFC fighter that day, so I'm imagining he was feeling extra generous due to his excitement of meeting the fighter.

I haven't gotten the chance to use them all yet. But last night I did get to use Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner.

Now usually Pantene conditioners come in that big ol' plastic bottle, Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner however came in an easy to squeeze tube bottle, which was a nice change. One complaint I have about the tube bottle though is that it falls down easily when you prop it up on the tubs edge.

Anyhow, Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner, is recognized out of the other 2 conditioner's by its purple band that runs across the bottle, clearly labeling it Frizz Control.

According to the bottle, Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner, will lock in moisture, sealing out humidity; which we all know is a frizz fest waiting to happen.

My Use:

In the shower I first shampooed my hair with Pantene's original moisturizing shampoo. I then added a dollop of Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner to my palm.

The conditioner itself is a pale purple color, which was different. I'm used to white colored conditioners when it comes to Pantene.

The scent was nice, but definitely didn't have that official Pantene fragrance. Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner smells more like freshly washed clothing, or blankets. A nice smell, but not something I expected from Pantene. This could mean good things, or bad; who knew?

I ran the conditioner through my hair, and let it sit for a good 3 minutes before washing it out.

While rinsing, I could tell right then and there in the shower that Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner had worked some sort of magic. My hair felt extremely silky, and very clean. All knots and tangles were history.

Results On Dry Hair:

I allowed my hair to air dry. Usually when I air dry my hair frizz will pop up in random spots...I figured if Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner worked, there would be no frizzy spots popping up.

Sadly though as my hair dried, the usual frizz popped up as expected. I have very thick hair, so it was really no shocker that Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner didn't work magic.

I will say though, that my hair was a lot more manageable than usual. Unfortunately frizz still made its debut.

Overall:

Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner is decent, and likely would work well for those with thinner hair types. The conditioner did leave my hair soft and silky, but as far as frizz control, I didn't notice a different.

I'd give Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner 3 out of 5 stars. Minus 2 stars for the lack of frizz control.
