Yves Saint Lauren has always made beauty products that I have wanted to
try, wanted to but, but unfortunately most of their designer beauty
products are a bit too rich for my blood. In a bag filled with designer
products given to me by my uncle though, I finally got the chance to try
out a beauty product from Yves Saint Lauren! Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light Pressed Powder!!!
Yeah, say that 3 times fast.
What is it?
Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light Pressed Powder is just another huge name for pressed powder in a compact.
The color that was included inside of the compact was Natural Light. I
would of preferred a darker color, but to be honest after opening the
compact up, and checking out the color in the palette, I must say that I
imagined it would be perfect for oil zone touch ups during the day.
Packaging:
Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light
Pressed Powder comes in a very sophisticated looking compact. The
compact itself is actually a gold colored metal, with the YSL logo
etched into the front.
Inside of the compact you have of course the pressed powder, a mirror, and umm...where is the application brush? None in this one gals! Sorry!
No fear though, most women already have powder brushed. For those of
you who don't, you may consider buying one, before investing in this
$44.00 powder.
The Natural Light Pressed Powder which is located in a large palette
inside of the compact actually has a really adorable heart shaped design
etched into the powder itself. Surrounding the palette the powder is
etched into what resembles tree bark.
I like this, because it reminds me of those rare finds I used to come
across as a kid in the woods. You know, Johnny Loves Amy, carved out in
the bark using a boy scout knife? Like that.
How Well Does It Work Though?
I've used puh-lenty of pressed powders in my time. Some that would
promise the world, and offer crud. Others would promise close to
nothing, yet would work wonders.
Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light
Pressed Powder is priced high. I imagined something priced this steep
would give me great coverage, awesome long lasting results, and light
wear. At least I hoped it offered all of that.
According to the YSL website, Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat
Et Matite: Natural Light Pressed Powder would basically give me a
complete matte finish that would be even, and comfortable.
Lets Put It To The Test Shall We?
I first applied my usual brand of cover up, allowed it to dry on my
face for a hot minute, and then used a soft circular shaped sponge brush
to apply Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural
Light Pressed Powder, on top of my liquid cover up.
The moment I put the powder on to my face I knew immediately that this
stuff was a golden find. Not only did it go on so feathery light, but
it also offered complete coverage. Mommy like!!!
Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light
Pressed Powder not only concealed my more oily spots, but it concealed
the areas without caking up, looking uneven, or powdery. Nor did it feel
heavy on my skin.
It was as if I had applied a fluffy cloudy layer to my face, and not
only did it feel nice and soft, but it looked nice and soft as well.
I will not that Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite:
Natural Light Pressed Powder does have a very subtle slight fragrance to
it. It is not a bad fragrance, but it is noticeable when it's on your
skin. I like the scent, as it reminds me of musk scented powder. It's
very light, and wears fast... I just figured I'd note it just in case
someone reading this dislikes scent when it comes to their beauty
products.
How Long Did That Last Though?
Ah, I wondered the same thing. I figured this stuff felt so good, and
looked so good on my face that likely it would, clog my pores, or simply
fade off of my skin in just a few short hours. Or worse... would make
my skin look even oiler than it usually is.
Fear not though, Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite:
Natural Light Pressed Powder stood put for a good majority of the day. I
cannot lie and say it covered my face with a matte flawless look all
day long, because it did not. I did however get a good 5 hours or so of
oil free matte cover. A quick swipe though to problem areas using the
powder though fixed the problem up in seconds.
Overall:
Even though Yves Saint Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite:
Natural Light Pressed Powder does not last and last and last... it still
provides a long enough lasting flawless look for me to recommend it.
Now usually I wouldn't recommend products so pricey, but Yves Saint
Lauren: Poudre Compacte Eclat Et Matite: Natural Light Pressed Powder
impressed me so much that I can't not recommend it.
