I try not to add things to my hair after showering due to past
nightmares in the past. You see, I'd buy something new for my hair
nearly every time I went out shopping. However, as soon as I got to
using the hair product, I'd end up with frizzy hair, greasy hair, puffy
hair or hair that just felt so disgusting and weighed down, that I just
stopped buying these promising products all together.
My uncle though, brings down a box of beauty supplies nearly every 2
months. Inside of the mystery box I find all sorts of goodies ranging
from perfume, lotion, creams, shampoo, and in some rarer cases hair care
products.
Paul Mitchell, Smoothing- Super Skinny Serum was of course one of the
products within the box. As much as I knew I should just give it away, I
wanted to try it before tossing it to someone else.
The Ultra Smoothing Promise:
According to good 'ol Paul, using his Smoothing- Super Skinny Serum
would smooth and soften my hair. Not only that it would also condition
and seal my hair, and reduce drying time.
It all sounded pretty nifty, and if it worked it could be a product I'd buy again and again.
My Use:
So...I jumped into the shower, did my thing, and used a very small dab of Paul Mitchell, Smoothing- Super Skinny Serum.
The serum itself came in a 5.1 ounce clear plastic container. The
serum is clear in color, and looks as if it would leave my hair with a
high gloss finish. You can buy Paul Mitchell, Smoothing- Super Skinny
Serum in smaller or larger containers, but before doing that finish
reading...
Anyhow, after dispersing the serum evenly through my hair, I let it dry as it normally would.
Results:
Ugh... just as I imagined.
I woke up the next morning to puffy, greasy and weighed down hair. Now
I have unusually thick hair, so when it feels weighed down it really
feels weighed down. Besides that though the texture of my hair was quite
disgusting, as it felt as if there was some sort of dulling residue
left behind in it. There was absolutely nothing I could do at the time,
because I had to hurry off to work. So here I am writing this review,
with my hair tied in a bun to try and hide how nasty it looks, just
counting the minutes till I get to go home and wash this gunk out of my
hair.
What really sucks about this whole ordeal is that I barely used any of
the serum. I used about a dime sized dab and spread it through my hair.
I knew to only use a small amount because of past fiasco's with hair
serums, so I was surprised that such a small amount of the serum could
cause such chaos.
Overall:
Nasty stuff. I recommend you just avoid this one all together.
