Perfume Review: Estee Lauder Sensuous for Women

I love perfume, and love trying new perfume. I have been burned many times though when buying perfume, I'd end up buying an expensive $50.00 brand, based solely on one counter tester sniff then I'd get home, spray it on, and the lovely scent would vanish in less than 20 minutes. It became a routine cycle, so I stopped buying perfume without at least trying a sample vile of the perfume for a day or two.

Whenever I'm in Macy's I usually am given a few free small vile samples of perfume to try before I buy. These small samples usually come in a card envelope with the name of the fragrance on it. My most recent freebie sample came from Estee Lauder's Sensuous, which is for women.

Normally Estee Lauder Sensuous would come in a beautiful round shaped glass bottle that to me looks like a piece of coral. All in all the bottle alone is collector worthy and needed to be noted.

Besides the gorgeous bottle though, I'm sure you came to this page looking for a review on the scent, and not the bottle right? Right!

Scent:

I sprayed a little squirt of Estee Lauder Sensuous on my wrist in the store, and to be honest I was not all too impressed with it. It was a very spicy scent that first hit my nostrils, followed by something that smelled like berries, black pepper, cinnamon, and lastly a strong tone of rotten oranges.

Estee Lauder Sensuous is made with Molten Wood and Amber, florals, Pepper, Mandarin Orange Pulp and Honey.

Once Estee Lauder Sensuous began to dry and fade out though it smelled more like burnt campfire wood than it did anything else. In my opinion Estee Lauder Sensuous managed to capture that bit of summer that many of us know and love, but I just don't find it to be a scent that is appropriate for wearing. Had Estee Lauder Sensuous been a candle for adding scent to the home, than perhaps... but in my opinion it's a scent that should be left in the bottle, on the shelf... alone.

Last:

Now if this odd description of Estee Lauder Sensuous still entices you, and you are thinking of purchasing it, you are probably wondering how long the scent lasts.

It is safe to say that the burnt sultry scent Sensuous lasts for a heck of a long time. Spraying on just one squirt to my wrists, I was able to take in frequent whiffs of the scent for up to 5 hours after applying! Yeah, that;s some pretty hardcore long lasting stuff wouldn't you say?

Overall:

Although Estee Lauder Sensuous is not up my alley, and it is a bit too outdoorsy manly to me, I find that it's long lasting scent may be something that is sure to please someone.

If you are not into those many spicy scent, than Estee Lauder Sensuous should be avoided all together.

Pricing and Availability:

Estee Lauder Sensuous can be found at nearly any outlet that sells perfume. Macy's in particular sells the larger 3.4 ounce bottle for $69.50.
