Review: Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler; As Seen on TV

I have extremely thick hair. I'm talking hair so thick and out of control that most of the time I just flop it up in a bun and let it be.

Once in awhile though when I'm bored of the same look I straighten my hair. Straightening hair as thick as mine though can take up to an hour +, which is just a pain in the rear.

I've tried it all though, hair products, special straightening shampoos and conditioners, serums...etc. You name it. The only thing that works 100% is a flat iron.

Seeing that mine just broke about 2 weeks ago though, I knew I needed a new one, and I needed it fast. While browsing my local Target I came across a nice selection of flat irons, but with $120 plus prices, there was no way I was getting one at that price.

Just as I was about to leave a small selection of new Conair Infiniti hair tools caught my eye. Normally I would not touch Conair, because I burnt myself pretty badly with one of their first designed steam straighteners. The water leaked.... and that was that. I forever hated Conair.

Seeing that this incident happened so long ago though, I assumed by now they'd have their crap together.
Immediately the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler caught my eye. About a year ago I tried a brush styler similar to this one, and it sucked.

I remembered my mom though telling me about this styler on a commercial she saw, and I recalled her saying it looked neat. I highly doubted it, but curiosity got the best of me, and I walked out $40.00 poorer. I was pretty sure this was the product my mom mentioned because it had that As Seen On TV logo slapped on the box.

Normally As Seen On TV products suck, but in my time I've run into some pretty handy devices, so who knew? Perhaps this styler would actually straighten my hair like the boxes description said it would.

Appearance:

The Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler is an odd looking styler. It looks like a clunky brush, and has these odd looking metal prongs located within the middle of the brushes thick perfectly separated bristles. At first it looks a bit dangerous, but trust me, they are not.

The comb has 2 rows of detangling combs, and a flocked polishing disk. There are 4 tension settings, which frankly I don't know what the hell they do to benefit. I tried all 4 and didn't notice anything different going on.

The Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler has 3 heating setting located on the stick. There is low, high, and cool.

Before buying the styler I really had no idea how it worked. I was not sure if it would shoot out hot air like a blow drier, or if the odd looking metal teeth in the middle of the comb would heat up to straighten the hair.

When I got it home, I learned that it works similar to a blow drier, but it is not a blow drier in the least bit. Blow dryers and I do not have a good relationship. Most of them puff up my hair, frizz it up, and make it look awful. I prayed while using the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler that this would not be the result.

When I realized it did blow out air though I was iffy on the whole thing. I figured I just wasted time and money on the tool, and that I'd end up returning it!

After using it, there is absolutely no way I'm parting with it!

Why?!

My Use:

I took a shower first, and seeing that the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler can be used on either wet or dry hair, I figured I'd really test it out by giving it the ultimate job. Having to dry MY hair. Haha!

After towel drying my hair I went to use the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler. I did not think that it was blowing out air that was hot enough to straighten my hair, I also thought it would take FOREVER to dry my hair because it is so thick.

However 15 minutes after combing it through my hair, my hair was oddly straight! I mean I say oddly, because it was so unexpected.

As the comb made it's way through my hair it did not encounter a single snarl or knot. The detangling combs truly glide through knots and snarls with ease, separating any and all knots without pulling the hair. I was impressed.

As my hair got drier it did not fluff up, or frizz out like it normally does. It seemed the more and more I brushed the comb through my hair, the flatter, shinier and straighter it got.

I wanted to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming because it was working, and it was working better than my old $150 straightener was, and at rate 10 times faster than I was used to!

I worked on my hair for only 15 minutes and it was straight. There were still some waves and curls located at the bottom layer of my hair that I missed, but all in all my hair got a full salon treatment in 15 frigging minutes.

Now although the styler was able to flatten my hair, it did add a bit more body than I liked. I have thick hair, so body comes with the territory. However for those looking for straight volumized hair, this tool is simply amazing.

If you already have thick hair, you will want to run a flat iron through your hair for a few minutes after using the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler. Even though you have to rid the added volume from your hair using a separate flat iron, I will say that it is soooo worth it, because the time that is cut out of my hair styling routine is the best gift a gal with hair like mine could have ever been given.

I went from having to take an hour to straighten my hair, to only 15-20 minutes.

I was not expecting this to work this good. I was not expecting Conair to have their name attached to this one either. I have totally fallen in love with Conair, and I didn't think that would be possible.

With hair as thick as mine, it is nearly a miracle product, and I adore it. I cannot recommend it enough!

Those with thin hair will especially love this one. Those with thick hair will love the time saved!

For me, the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler is a true 5 star product!
