It has been awhile since I treated my hair to an expensive shampoo and
conditioner washing. Lately I have been saving my money for an upcoming
vacation.
However it's my birthday week, and every girl celebrates a birthday
week (at least I do anyway). I felt the need to treat myself to
something a little more indulgent than what I am used to.
While browsing the shampoo and conditioner isle at my local Target I
came across a large selection of products from Nexxus. I am new to the
brand, and avoided it in the past because I am not one who really spends
more than $7.00 on shampoo or conditioner.
Most of Nexxus' products had prices ranging from $8.99 to $14.95!
I have combination oily/dry hair. When I saw Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo, I
figured it would be something that my hair would appreciate. The price
though, gag! $8.99!!! I clicked open the click up cap and took in a
sniff.
It took just one light sniff, and I knew that I was not leaving it
behind. It had such a unique scent. It reminded me of coconut with a
very very light airy subtle hint of something sweet; like sugar cookies,
and honey. I had never smelled anything so sultry, so feminine and so
delicious!
I don't usually spend much money on shampoo, but I wanted to try this
one. I also paired it up with Nexxus Moisturizing conditioner, which is
an entirely different review.
Appearance:
Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo comes in a slim silver
gray bottle. In all honesty I was a little disappointed that the shampoo
didn't come with more! The bottle only contains 13.5 ounces of shampoo.
For the money I spent I was hoping there would be more, but alas, you
pay for quality, and holy heck this stuff sure packs some quality!
The Promise:
According to the bottle, and the Nexxus website, Therappe Luxurious Hydrating Shampoo,
is enhanced for superior salon quality hair, and moisturization of
course. The result is supposed to be nourished healthy hair!
My Use:
I was pretty excited to give Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing
Shampoo a try. In the shower I wet my hair, and squeezed out a palm
sized amount of the shampoo. The shampoo itself has a pearly white shine
to it, and smells fantastic. The consistency is much thicker than most
shampoos I have used in the past.
The lather works immediately, and a little bit of the shampoo goes a long way.
After running the lather though my locks for a good minute or so, I
rinsed. I was a little surprised at how my hair felt afterward.
Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo left my hair feeling
slightly parched, which was odd because Nexxus Therappe Luxurious
Moisturizing Shampoo is made to moisturize!
After using the sister conditioner though, the result was simply
spectacular. My hair dried shinier than usual, and left behind of course
was the scent that I fell in love with in the store.
Overall:
It's really great shampoo. I have however used shampoo that has given
me similar results, but the scent is like nothing I have ever used.
