3 weeks ago I was given a few free samples from Clarins, included in
this mini freebie kit were 2 decent sized tubes of Clarins Multi Cream.
The day cream impressed me as far as scent, and balance of skin tone
went, but as far as helping me out with my fine lines I did not see any
differences.
This day cream however is meant to be paired up with Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream,
and even though my sample was trial sized, there was plenty of cream
inside to last me for over a month. So far though I have been using this
cream for 3 weeks now, in conjunction with the day cream.
First I wanted to mention my history with wrinkle creams goes deep, as
I have spent big dollars on fading wrinkles, to pennies on the dollar
for lesser brands. Most of them promise the same thing, while only a
handful of them really work well enough to even consider buying again.
When it comes to Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream, this
one sits right in the middle, at a mid range price. If you are not new
to wrinkle creams, then you already know that $58.00 is not too
expensive for a good quality product. However if you are new to this
sort of thing, then take note, $58.00 is mid-range price for a good
quality wrinkle cream.
However is Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream actually
worth that price? I mean heck, I have run into a huge share of high
priced wrinkle creams that did not do squat, what a waste! So how does
this one weight in, and is it a wrinkle cream you should even bother
with?
My Use:
Like I said, I have been using this one nightly for 3 weeks now. I
wash my face before bed, and then rub Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth
Recovery Cream into my clean dry skin.
The cream is a little bit thicker than the day cream, which is more
consistent to the texture and consistency of lotion than a cream.
Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream is more of a cream base,
which is nice because unlike the day cream, this one actually adds a
bunch of moisture to your skin, even after quickly absorbing into it.
The scent matches up well to the day cream, but it is not as potent. I
guess that is a must, otherwise I would be up all night inhaling the
fragrance.
There is a slight residue however which I noticed, and it felt semi
slick, or greasy. Not quite a texture I like on my skin before bed, as I
always fear I will wake up to a bunch of pimples. Thankfully that was
not the case, no pimples, but my God, when I woe up my face was very
shiny, and felt really gross.
No break outs though, none at all, so I was willing to overlook this
nasty greasy skin of mine. I hoped though that I did not mess with the
balance of my skin, and I worried I would now have to, once again,
combat oily skin.
Luckily after washing my face, my skin was back to normal. No shine, no grease, thank the lord!
Results?
Unfortunately my Hyaluronic Acid serums work much better than these
creams combined, and for a much lower price. I skipped on using the acid
though to see how well this cream would work alone, and while it kept
my skin soft, and my skin tone nice and even, it did not really help at
fading fine lines.
After 3 weeks of use, I was hoping to see a difference in the wrinkle department, but no such luck.
I do however love how even my skin tone is, and this night cream, when
used with the day cream really worked wonders in that department.
Would I Buy It?
My main question to myself though is, would I buy it once my tube runs
out. My answer would have to be no. I can get nice even skin tone using
my other lower priced serums and creams. Granted Clarins Multi-Active
Night Youth Recovery Cream works really well for evening out skin tone,
the price is still too high for what it does.
