Review of Dorothy Bubble Bar, by Lush

Although it is August, we were plagued with a wonderful little taste of the Fall season. Normally I will not take bubble baths in hot weather, and I wait for cooler seasons. Well, with the weather feeling like fall last week, I decided to put my Lush goodies to use.

My boyfriend came back from a quick trip and with him he brought me a bag of Lush products. Stunned by the nice gesture, I was excited to give them a try.

Dorothy Bubble Bar got used before any other product in the bunch. The reason was because this bubble bar enticed me with its awesome rainbow decoration added to the bar. The rainbow sits on top of a beautiful deep aqua blue bubble bar.

The bar was made a little sloppy though, compared to other bubble bars. In fact it had a very unsteady quality about it, like it was too soft and clay like, and seemed to be something a child would make with play dough in art class, or at home. Granted the bar was sloppy, I didn't care, it had this whimsical childlike cuteness about it, that I actually liked. I do however hope that Lush's new bubble bars do not have such a cheap pliable texture to them in the future.

My Use:

I ran a bath and decided to use the entire Dorothy bar under the running water. It crumbled rather easily, and immediately began to sprout tons and tons of bubbles to the surface of the water. I left the bathroom to gather up a towel and came back to a luscious looking movie star quality bubble bath.

The bubbles poured over the sides of the tub and tempted me with it's light yet recognizable scent. It was nothing really note worthy, just warm and inviting like cider, citrus and tea. It was sort of weak though, which was surprising because every other review I came across described it as having a very strong citrus scent. This just didn't happen with my bar, and I used the entire thing.

The water turned a beautiful aqua color and I love bubble bars that transform my water into a spa like experience. The water itself was also silky feeling, a feeling that lasted even after stepping out of the bath.

All in all, I liked Dorothy Bubble Bar. The bubbles lasted for the majority of my soak, and my skin was left feeling silky and moisturized afterward.

I'd recommend this one to those of you who just want a nice relaxing bubble bath. This bar provides tons of long lasting bubbles, and a spa like feeling due to the blue silky water.
