Just last night while touching up on some holiday shopping at my local
Marshall's, I stopped into their perfume isle to see what newbies, or
old veteran fragrances I could find for a low price. I normally will
scoop up surprise fragrances for myself so long as they are under the
$15.00 price mark.
Marshall's no longer leaves out tester fragrances, so
you are pretty much left with no other option, than surprise mystery
fragrances, especially if you have no clue what the scent smells like.
When I saw a nice large 3.4 ounce bottle of GapBody Mandarin Jasmine
Eau De Toilette Spray for just $7.99, I figured why not? The bottle was a
nice large one, and I figured Gap would make something delicious
enough, and worthy enough to purchase, especially at that low price.
The Bottle:
Once home, I got to unwrapping the bottle of perfume from it's orange
colored box only to pull out a bottle that reminded me more of a room
diffuser spray than it did a fragrance I was to spray on myself. I hoped
the cheap bottle, and cheap spray nozzle would at least disperse
something worthy of even continuing to use, and not some gross home
fragrance.
For those of you whom enjoy saving perfume bottles, GapBody Mandarin
Jasmine is not one of those bottles in which you will want to keep
around once the fragrance is all gone. It's rather ugly.
The Scent:
The scent of GapBody Mandarin Jasmine was simply delicious, and had a
more sweet honey like scent going on than it did a mandarin or jasmine
fragrance. To better put it, GapBody Mandarin Jasmine was delicious, a
perfume worthy of keeping, and buying again.
The honey scent is followed up with a light mandarin orange scent that
fades away really quickly. The hint of oranges however gives the honey
note a more orange gummy bear scent, which is actually really nice,
especially when the notes of honey begin to settle in more while the
orange scent begins to quickly fade.
Last:
For only $7.99, I expected the lovely jelly like frgrance to fade away
quickly, but believe it or not, this low priced beauty actually packs a
nice powerful long lasting kick. I was able to detect candy like honey
notes for up to 3 hours after spraying it on clothing, which is really
decent for the price, and the fact that this one is nor an eau de
parfum, but rather a toilette.
Overall:
All in all GapBody Mandarin Jasmine is a bouncy fragrance, it is
definitely a refreshing one, even though I was not able to find a single
hint of jasmine to the mix, I surely liked the scent well enough.
