Review of Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes Morning Refresh with Citrus and Cucumber

I got a free sample of Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes Morning Refresh With Citrus and Cucumber, when I purchased their original wet cleansing towelettes. The sampler not only came with Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes Morning Refresh With Citrus and Cucumber, but they also included a sample package of an evening white tea and chamomile wet cleansing towelette. I thought the concept was really neat, because it is one of the first cleansing towelette companies to ever offer a day and night option to your cleansing routine.

The evening edition was simply divine, and I loved it. When I got around to using Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes Morning Refresh With Citrus and Cucumber, I figured I would love it just as much, but this unfortunately was not at all the case.

The morning towelettes have small rubber like circular pads on one side of the towelette, which is a neat new twist to wet cleansing towelettes, but at the same time they felt a little rubbery on my skin, and the formula itself actually suds up more like a soapy formula, than just a wet cleanser like all other towelettes. I did not like the feeling or the suds because it felt like something I would have to clean off of my face after using, and I didn't really like that, because I usually wash my face before using a wet towelette. I hated having to wash before, and after using the towelette.

The residue left behind does in fact feel sticky on the skin, which led me to washing my face as I had a feeling if I didn't I would break out. Cleansing towelettes are supposed to make your skin feel cleaner, not dirtier than before you even used it.

The scent is citrus like, but nothing realistic. It smells more like wiping old sour orange juice onto your face, and this is another reason as to why I wanted to wash my face so badly after using this one.

The circular rubber pads on the one side of the towelette do in fact allow you to more exfoliate the skins surface, but once the towelette begins to sud up so much you cannot really feel the padding anymore, rendering them useless, which is not a bad thing because they feel so rubbery on their own, even before the sudding action really begins to take place.

Overall:

They work well enough, but I would suggest washing your face after using the towelette. Your skin will feel sticky and rubbery if you do not wash afterward. The left over residue on your skin may also cause breakouts. However with that said, washing your face afterward is not too tragic of a routine. I like how my skin feels after using the Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes Morning Refresh With Citrus and Cucumber, and then washing my face with warm water. When used alone though, these towelettes leave your skin feeling pretty horrible.
