Ever since Marshall's moved in to town, I have frequented the store
religiously. My mission is usually the same with each visit. The mission
includes finding a designer perfume for under $20.00. Such a feat is
usually never hard, as most designer perfumes sold at Marshall's average
at $10 to $20.
My most recent find was Hard Candy, a perfume for women that I had
never seen or heard of before. Considering the fact that the larger 3.4
ounce perfume was only priced at $9.99, I figured I'd give it a try.
In the store I had no clue what Hard Candy would smell like, as it was
shrink wrapped in its box, and there were no tester bottles available
to sample on the shelves.
Packaging:
Hard Candy came in a metallic silver box, with the Hard Candy logo
written along it. Inside though sits the most gorgeous bottle. It has a
green oval shaped topper, with a long cylinder shaped glass bottom. The
black and green designs twirling around the bottle have this Chinese
bamboo vibe going on.
I was not sure what to expect from this one. It would either smell
like fresh outdoorsy bamboo, or it would smell like cotton candy.
My Use:
I popped of the topper, and pressed down on the spray nozzle. In the
air before me I smelled very sickening high notes of cotton candy,
sugar, and vanilla.
Now the scent was OK, but the scent was also too childish. It smelled
like something I'd wear if I were 11 or 12 years old. In fact I probably
still have a few cotton candy scented body sprays somewhere in my
closet that resemble Hard Candy.
This scent would be nice for a bubble bath, but not one I'd want to
wear consistently on me throughout the day. The plus side is that the
perfume does not last long. However if you actually like this scent,
that would be a negative effect.
Overall:
Hard Candy is not very long lasting, and it's scent is one that young
children would like. If you're not a young child, skip this one
entirely.
