I have always been extremely fond of anything that comes packed with a
tea flavor or scent. Green and white tea have always been my all-time
favorites when it comes to scented items, so when I saw that Lush had
added a new bath bomb to its Web site called Tea and Sympathy, I was
more than happy to add it to my online virtual shopping cart.
Appearance:
On the website Tea and Sympathy looks like a big old bland white bath
bomb.To be honest I wasn't going to purchase it because usually I only
order bath bombs that contain sweet extras, like flowers.
Tea and Sympathy supposedly at one time did come with a sweet little
extra within its bomb. When it melted it would release a little tea bag
with actual tea herbs in it. Lush though stopped making the bombs with
the tea bags in the bomb, because too many people were complaining about
the bag being split open creating an herbal mess in their tubs.
So Lush now packs the tea bag on the side.
My bomb arrived looking like the one on the site. Nothing different.
It was plain white, with a very cute LUSH logo embedded into the bomb.
On the side, I got a very small round tea bag filled with tea herbs.
My Use:
Tea and Sympathy was a huge bath bomb, and I was considering cutting it in half... but I like to indulge, so I indulged.
I filled the tub up with hot water, got in, and threw in my tea bag. Next I threw in the Tea and Sympathy bomb.
I had never in all my Lush bath bomb ordering experiences, had a bath
bomb fizz up the way Tea and Sympathy did. It reminded me of an alka
seltzer gone wild.
The fizz was so powerful it created these ugly slimy little bubble on
top of my bath water. I was not too thrilled with it, because it
reminded me of the bubbly scum that washes up on bay shores sometimes.
Yes, it had that same consistency, and even had a little greenish tint
to it. Quite gross!
It took less than a minute for the entire bomb to fizz out. The scent
that the bomb gave off was subtle, and nothing like tea. To me it
smelled more like pizza seasoning - herbal, and "foody."
I wasn't too fond of the scent, but it was not horrible either. Just different.
My bath water didn't change into a soft and silky soaking paradise
either, so that was disappointing. Most Lush bath bombs I have used will
turn my water into what feels like silk. This wasn't the case with Tea
and Sympathy.
Overall:
A weak non-tea scent, gross bubbles, and a lack of silky water. My skin felt no difference as well.
Conclusion:
Tea and Sympathy was probably the worst bomb I have ever used from
Lush. Luckily it was a limited time bath bomb, and is discontinued for
now. Lush, however, brings this one back every now and then.
For those who already know they love Tea and Sympathy, you can find this bomb still being sold on eBay.
