Review of Michael Kors, Very Hollywood, Perfume for Women

I adore free samples of newly released fragrances, and one of the newest freebie samples of perfume I got my hands on was a vile of Very Hollywood, by Michael Kors.

Something about the name of this one I did not like, perhaps it was the fact that a males name being attached to a female fragrance. Granted the perfume designer could have just left it alone, with just the name Very Hollywood, I figure maybe this fella is well known round the globe or something, and his name alone sells the fragrance? No clue really, as I have never heard of him until this scent happened to land upon me for free.

Well he can keep his name on this one, because it smells fantastic, and any man that can impress a woman with his taste in fragrance is my kind of man. Kudos Michael Kors, Very Hollywood is simply scrumptious.

The Scent:
 
I was expecting Very Hollywood to smell like a rich deep mushy musk, something one would imagine a celebrity would smell like. Alluring, deep, powdery, but overdone.

Very Hollywood smells entirely different to my assumptions though. This one gives off a beautiful gardenia fragrance that is strong and powerful at first. Immediately I was not impressed because I have tons of gardenia scented fragrances, and frankly I was sick of them. However this one quickly melts into a fresh floral arrangement, with a nice uplifting chime of what smells to me, like grapefruit. It then transforms into a more dewy gardenia musk, which is really nice, and those nectarine/grapefruit like hints peep through every so often, which transform the scent in and out as the day goes on.

The Last:
 
Now most dewy florals do not pack much when it comes to long lasting fragrance, but Very Hollywood is a perfume all its own, giving off beautiful notes of its lovely self throughout the day. The last here is phenomenal.

The Bottle:
 
Very Hollywood comes packed in a really pretty bottle. Sadly I got a sample vile, but when I do actually run out, and go out and buy the bottle, it is definitely a bottle I would keep around even after the perfume runs dry.

You see, this bottle is standard, with a standard square shape to it, but the very pretty details on the bottle are what sets it apart from its boring square friends. This bottle has crystals on it, large ones, and the overall color is of course, pink. It goes perfectly to be honest, as the scent has this pink clean floral about it.

Overall:
 
Very Hollywood is a winner in my opinion. The scent is delicious, it transforms and it lasts a very long time. It is definitely a scent worth picking up, even if florals are not your thing, there is something about this one that may just change your mind.
