I have oily skin by nature, and usually I am able to combat it with
simple dabbing of the skin throughout the day. However in hot muggy
weather my skin shines like a mirror no matter how much dabbing or
powder applications I do throughout the day.
When I saw a new product by Neutrogena on the outer shelves I went ahead and coughed up my $7.00 hoping that this new Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Lasting Shine Control Daily Scrub
would work as it advertised, long lasting shine control. I have to
admit it sounded too good to be true, like the product I had been
searching for my whole life.
I have used shine control scrubs before, but they usually left my skin
dry, and the shine would poke through shortly afterward anyway. I hoped
Neutrogena's formula worked, and worked well.
The Scrub:
The scrub itself is a blue color, with lots and lots of micro-beads
and micro-scrub flecks within. It has a nice zing of freshness about it
as far as scent is concerned.
When I rinsed with it, it felt like a dream on my face, and I knew the
micro-beads were scrubbing off all dirt and impurities that clog my
pores up and cause acne. I just hoped that besides the clean fresh
feeling it left behind, that it it would keep shine away on these
dreadfully muggy hot days.
The Results:
Now I really love the scrub as a cleanser, however shine was not
subsided any more than it would have been had I used an ordinary facial
scrub wash. My shine stood shine free for about an hour, and after a
check in the mirror the shine was present, and required a powder up to
cover up the high beam gleam my forehead was giving off.
So as far as results go, sorry folks, there is no long lasting shine
control. Your skin will be left feeling clean and fresh though. Granted
that's probably not what you were looking for though.
Overall:
Sorry, this one failed to keep me shine free for a long time. I was
hoping it would, but had a feeling it wouldn't and my observations were
correct. I however love how clean and fresh it leaves my skin feeling
that more than likely I would buy this one again in the future.
