I blame my spontaneous reaction to new products on one of my most recent purchases.
Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Face Cleanser
is a new product by Neutrogena. It's gorgeous appearance is what sucked
me in first and foremost, the fact that it had the word NEW
sprawled on top of the bottle was also a factor in why I bought it.
Last but not least was the official seal in why I bought Neutrogena Deep
Clean Invigorating Daily Face Cleanser. It promised to tingle my skin
on contact!
Besides that promise though, the bottle also promised that using
Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Face Cleanser would wash away
dead skin cells. The bursting micro beads would release a refreshing
cool wave that would deeply penetrate my skin, while leaving skin
feeling refreshed for hours.
It sounded all too delicious, and it also sounded like the perfect
remedy to cool myself off on hot summer days. According to Neutrogena
this is a foam cleanser as well.
Appearance:
Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Face Cleanser comes in a
standard clear stand up pump bottle. Inside you have a liquid that seems
extremely runny, within the clear liquid a ton of small blue beads
float. It's really pretty when you first get a glimpse of it. To me, it
looked like a spa in a bottle.
My Use:
Due to the fact that it is stated to be a foam cleanser, I imagined
that as soon as I pressed down on the pump, it would turn this runny gel
into foam like some products I have used in the past have done.
This was not the case. Out of the spout runny liquid gel poured into my palm, with a few blue micro beads.
The texture seemed sort of gross, but I went ahead and began cleaning
my face with it. The tingle feeling that was supposed to be
instantaneous never occurred. In fact the entire time while scrubbing
the cleanser around I didn't once feel this glorious tingling action.
Not only that the cleanser was also not foaming up in the least bit.
Even after adding a little water, the gel still remained in its gel
form.
The scent was very, very subtle, so subtle that I barely was able to
detect the scent the product was giving off. When I sat there for a
moment to take it in, I realized that it has a very mild minty scent to
it.
Similar to toothpaste. It however is so light that you will likely
miss the scent if you are not looking for it.
Rinsing off was pretty easy, a few splashes at the face and I felt as
if the cleanser was all off. The foaming action only took place in the
sink when water ran on it at full blast. Figures!
Results:
My skin felt pretty clean, but I was disappointed in the fact that it
didn't leave behind a cool refreshing wave as promised. I was also
disappointed in the lack of the tingle that the product promised.
Anyhow, two disappointments down, one to go. The final disappointment
came with its last. My face was feeling clean after using Neutrogena
Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Face Cleanser, however that clean feeling
vanished just as fast as my face could dry.
Overall:
A runny, messy cleanser. It does not foam up. It does not tingle. It
does not last. All in all Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Face
Cleanser is not one I would recommend.
