Pink metallic colors never looked good on my nails, however pink metallic on my lips, and we have take-off!
When I came across a cheap $1.99 tube of lipstick by N.Y.C I initially
was going to leave it alone, however I had some bad luck with lipstick
that cost 8 times that price, and figured what the heck, may as well try
a cheap brand, maybe it'd be better than some high end, high priced
brand of lipstick.
I had used N.Y.C in the past, but never liked their lipsticks because
they always felt too dry on my lips. That was years ago though, and I
figured I would give the brand a run again, maybe they improved? Maybe
not?
I bought N.Y.C Lipstick in the color Flirty 417B. I was not able to
test it in the store, but by the looks of what I could see through the
clear cap, it looked like a color that would work well with me. Through
the lid it looked like a pinkish purple hue, with a nice shimmery
additive that I knew would make the lips shine.
My Use:
I was surprised at how far N.Y.C had come since my teen years, because
this lipstick was just as smooth and moist feeling as a high end brand
would feel. I loved it, it easily ran across my lips and left a
beautiful shimmering metallic pink behind. The color is rather
beautiful, and bold, and more than likely wouldn't work too well on
those with pale skin. However if you were to pair this color up with a
nice sun kissed glow on your skin, you'd be left with some cosmetic lip
magic.
Last:
Surprised again, N.Y.C Flirty stood with me much longer than other
expensive brand lipsticks do. In fact I only had to touch up about 3
times throughout an 8 hour time period, and that included drinking from a
soda can. The lipstick will come off a bit on a cup or can, but the
color remains, only a little faded, but still very present.
All in all the last is spectacular.
Overall:
Go ahead ladies, N.Y.C is not just a brand from your teen years, they
are keeping up with times, trends, and deliver low cost cosmetics with
really awesome high end results. I highly recommend this brand, and this
particular lipstick color.
