Review Of, Oribe Pomade with Color; Shines, Conditions and Tints Gold

This past weekend I was given gobs of new beauty products. Most of the products I had been given I had never seen, or heard of before, and Oribe Pomade With Color; Shines, Conditions, and Tints Gold, happened to be one of those products.

Now I adored the tin that the pomade came in, and went online to try and seek out other colors. Oddly I was unable to find this particular color, it seems as if Oribe may have re-launched this exact tint as Oribe 24k Pomade, because the pomade inside of this container looks exactly like the one in the Oribe 24k Pomade.

What Is Oribe Pomade with Color; Shines, Conditions, and Tints Gold?

When I first was given the whimsical pink tin of Pomade, I too was wondering what the stuff could do. It was obvious it was made for your hair, but as far as its use, I was a little unsure.

After looking it up on google, I discovered that it is used to add a brilliant golden shimmer to your hair, and that you could add it to your hair either wet or dry, for shimmering golden highlights. In 24k the pomade is made with actual crushed gold. It appears as if this particular pomade may have been made the exact same way.

When I first popped the top I was a bit grossed out by it, I have to admit. It had a sticky look to it, but it was so bright, shiny, and golden beautiful that I knew I would have fun giving it a try.

The pomade itself is slightly gooey feeling, but rubs into the hair easily and without effort. I have very dark hair, so I figured it would add shimmer to my locks.

Unfortunately though, I was not impressed with it. It seemed to leave behind a slick slightly greasy texture at first, but as it began to dry the greased feeling subsided. The shimmer it added was very unrecognizable, and I know I have gotten better results using high beam glossers.

The real kick in the keester though is the price attached to this one. I assume that they figured if they crushed gold and added it to the pomade, that a $60.00 price tag would be suitable. Unfortunately only an idiot would buy into a golden gimmick like this one.

So ladies, leave this one to the super rich celebrity's who can piss their money away and crap like this, and stick to some low priced high beam glossing serums, they work better than this.

The tin is cute, if you can find it. The originals feature a neat drawn on buff looking man, with an arm full of tattoos. It's cute, and retro looking, but definitely not worthy of the price.
