So they refer to Ralph Lauren's Blue Perfume for women as a
floral scent. However, when I first got my first sniff test with Blue
there was not anything floral about it at all.
This was not a bad thing though, not by a long run, because Ralph Lauren Blue is a gem, a real beachy gem.
I was given a smaller bottle of Blue this past holiday, and I have worn it just a bout every other day since.
The Scent:
The scent that hit me first was one that reminded me of the seashore.
It had a fresh, clean, misty rain quality to it that was delightful. At
the same time though, Blue had such a familiar twist to it. Many fresh
beach scents all have that same sort of 'thing' about them. They're all
fresh, watery, and smooth.
It's definitely a summer scent, but I'd wear it even in the spring or
the fall just to get a small taste of a summer sun, even if just through
a fragrance. Blue will do that for you.
The Bottle:
The bottle Blue comes in is of course blue, but it's a nice dark denim
blue. The bottle is semi transparent, so you are able to see how much
of the fragrance you have left. The Blue bottle is worthy of saving
based on the deep blue color the glass is. The bottles cut reminds me of
a square cut diamond, which is really pretty, classy, and feminine.
The Last:
What I found so remarkable about Ralph Lauren Blue, was it's
last. It did have a familiar scent to it when you compare it to other
ocean scents, but Ralph Lauren's version lasts and lasts, and lasts some
more. A few small squirts to your neck, jacket, or wrists, and you will
be dusted in a lovely summery beach scented breeze all day long.
Overall:
Ralph Lauren Blue gets a solid 5 star rating from me. Although the
scent is not very original, it has such an incredible long life once you
spray it on yourself. It's hard coming across fragrances that have
lasting power to them, Blue has that going on, and the scent is
delicious. One I'd recommend highly.
