A week ago I colored my hair, and I am no stranger to the damages
brought on to the hair due to coloring. I end up with dry hair, hair
that becomes a little brittle, and hair that looks duller than usual. I
am however smart enough to know that when I am coloring my hair, I need
to stock up on pricey hair care treatments to use in my hair afterward,
from leave in moisturizers, to shine therapy, and products that promise
to relieve dry brittle hair.
Besides the array of products I bought to help relieve the hair after coloring it, I also picked up a package of Smooth 'N Shine, Silk Fusion, Repair X-Treme, Leave In Treatment.
The reason was because it came in a pack of 3, and promised to
moisturize hair, and repair damage. I planned on using this in my hair
after washing out my color, and conditioning, as it says to add it to
wet hair.
The first thing that bothered me about this leave in treatment was the
amount of oil in the vile. This package came with 3 viles, that I was
going to use on a weekly basis. At first I liked how large each
individual vile was, but once I began adding it to my hair, I worried
that I would be left with a grease pit on top, since there was more than
enough oil in the vile. I have thick hair as well, so this was
shocking.
Luckily when my hair finally dried, there were no traces of oil,
grease or nasty residue. I worried there would be, but luckily, nothing.
The problem however was the fact that my hair looked and felt just as
it always had. It was dry, not moisturized, and I felt like I had wasted
my money on this so called treatment. I have used cheaper treatments
that at least worked at making my hair smell good if anything else.
Smooth 'N Shine, Silk Fusion, Repair X-Treme, Leave In Treatment did
nothing. It was like adding water to my hair, and waiting for it to
evaporate.
The scent is non-existent, which does not bother me, but seeing that
it didn't even help my hair out, or show any improvement's, some nice
fragrance left behind would have been nice.
Overall:
Smooth 'N Shine, Silk Fusion, Repair X-Treme, Leave In Treatment in my opinion is a waste of your money.
If you are looking for a leave in treatment to repair recently colored
hair, or dry and brittle hair look elsewhere. Infusium 23 in particular
makes some pretty decent leave in treatments that will help you out a
lot more than this treatment will.
