Liquid to powder cosmetic's have never been my cup of tea. Most liquid
to powders are messy when they dry, crease like crazy, or are hard to
apply.
When I noticed a small tear drop shaped bottle in a bag of cosmetic
recently given to me, I was intrigued. The bottles appearance itself
suggested that perhaps it was nail polish. However once I took a closer
look at the cute bottles label, I realized this stuff was in fact
eyeshadow. SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra, to be exact.
The Color:
The color through the bottle was beautiful. A starry silver shimmery
liquid moved throughout the bottle, flecks of silver micro glitter was
abundant in the bottle, and it looked really glamorous.
The issue though was that SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water
Eyeshadow, Hydra was a liquid to powder dry eyeshadow. The application
wand which is small is attached to the bottle cap.
Immediately I
disliked the application wand, because I knew it would goop on too much
liquid to my eye. The wand was the same sponge wand you would find in
lip gloss bottles.
I figured seeing how SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water
Eyeshadow, Hydra was given to me for free, I would try it before moaning
about it.
My Use:
I stuck the wand into the small nail polish shaped glass bottle and
lifted it back up. Silver liquid was saturated on the sponge applicators
tip. I slid the liquid onto my eyelids and began to blend it in.
It worked easily, but the cold wet liquid sort of irked me. I hate
liquid on my lids, it makes me feel like I have to blink, and I knew if I
were to blink I'd make a mess.
The liquid did blend easily though, and I was able to manipulate it to
look darker on my lower lids, and lighter on my upper lids. The result
was pretty stunning, but definitely unfinished. I needed another color
to blend with SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra
for more defined looking eyes.
After the eyeshadow fully dried (which took a few short moments),
I then went into my makeup box searching for a black eyeshadow to add
contour to my eyes. I hoped the black would blend easily in with SUE
DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra.
I was in fact able to blend SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water
Eyeshadow, Hydra in with my black eyeshadow to create a smoky eyelid
which looked really pretty and sultry when I was done.
Creases?
SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra promises it
will not crease in your eyelid, no matter how oily your lids may be.
I'm sure many of you reading this are wondering if in fact the promise holds true.
Well it's safe to say that yes, SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra does not
crease. However over time it does begin to look like it is fading. The
shimmery silver glimmer on your eyes sort of die out after a half day of
wearing the shadow. Although this is more than enough time to get you
through your work or school day, I have used other eyeshadows that stood
true to their color, and lasted till I washed my face.
Overall:
SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra is gorgeous.
It dries fast and is easy to blend in with other eyeshadow colors for a
defined looking eye. It is pretty much a universal color so it will
look good with any color eyeshadow you may want to blend in with it.
The last is semi decent giving you shimmer beautiful professional looking eyes for the entire day (re-apply at night).
I really have no reason not to recommend SUE DEVITT STUDIO Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow, Hydra.
Where To Buy:
My particular eyeshadow was purchased in a cosmetic shop in NYC.
