Review: Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder, Great Sandy Desert An Excellent Shine Control Powder

Whenever my uncle comes for a visit from the city he brings in tote bags filled with all sorts of goodies for my mother and I to dig through. Makeup products, lotions, perfume, sprays, and other gobs of gooblie gotta have its.

Mainly in these goodie bags though we come across weird and unusual products with brand names that we had never in our lives heard of, or even seen before.

Today I will be reviewing Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder.

It comes in a heavy duty glass jar, with a black screw on/screw off lid. You are easily able to view the loose powder inside of the jar, so you know how much is left. Inside you have a very small powder applicator with a cute yellow ribbon sewed on allowing you to easily hold it while applying the powder. Below the applicator you have a common sifting lid where the powder comes through in order to saturate the applicator.

What interested me about this particular loose powder was the fact that it was made with 3 different types of sea weeds, in order to soothe and nurture the skin. It sounded all too groovy, and a little far fetched. Many products claim this ingredient will do this, and that ingredient will do that... yet there are never any results as promised.

So naturally I put Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder to the test.

The Color:

Great Sandy Desert appears to be a dark tan colored powder. However once you shift a little bit of the powder onto the applicator and onto your face you will see that this color in fact is pretty light, and mainly transparent.

I wouldn't recommend this color to those with already deeply tanned skin, or even mildly tanned skin. Great Sandy Desert is a color that those with pale skin, and very very subtle tan skin could use. Those darker this stuff will make you look a little dusty.

Did It Nurture My Skin?

I wouldn't say it nurtured my skin, but it did feel nice on my skin.

Did It Soothe My Skin?

I wouldn't call it soothing personally, but it does have a very soft airy texture to it that one may want to call soothing.

My Use:

Now mostly what I wanted from Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder was long protection from oil control. According to the promise, Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder would offer maximum shine control, while combating premature wrinkles. Pretty neat, pretty sweet!

I applied a nice layer of the powder onto the small application sponge and began applying it to my skin. I actually applied it over my foundation, for best results.

The powder goes on easily, it is loose, and easy to get messy if you are not careful. A thin layer will do just fine.

The moment I applied Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder, I did notice immediate coverage to my shinier areas on my nose and forehead. The color did not tint my skin at all, but it did do what I wanted it to do, and that was to control shine.

Last:

Most products that promise to control shine though only control that shine for an hour; if that. I was hoping that Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder would be able to control shine for the majority of the day.

So you are probably wondering... did it last?

It did not last extremely long, but the shine control lasted well enough through the day that I would have no problem recommending Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder to those looking for shine control. On the hot humid day I applied it, I was surprised it withstood for as long as it had. On a cooler day I imagine this powder would last for the entire 8 hour work day, with no problem.

Overall:

I'm pretty happy with the results, the matte finish I had last nearly all day, and the ease of application. I would however prefer a larger application sponge. I feel the small sized one that comes with it is far to small, and takes more time to cover the face entirely if that is what you are looking to do.

Where To Buy:

I have no idea where to purchase Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-Weed Loose Powder, as it was given to me. I do know though that you can easily pick up a jar of it online with an easy google search using the product name. You can buy it for around $25.00.
