Almost every time I go into my local Target I make it a point to stop
down their specialty bath isle.
This isle is filled with goodies from
companies you normally don't hear of, and mostly people skip this isle
entirely because the prices tend to be a little more over priced than
the norm.
I however visit this isle regularly just to see if there is anything
new, and sometimes (although it is rare) I come across an item that I
simply cannot resist. My newest craving is the Soap & Glory scent.
About 2 weeks ago I picked up a bottle of Soap & Glory shimmer
lotion, the scent is heavenly, but the shimmer lotion did not have a
long lasting scent like the Soap & Glory lotion did. Still though it
was a scent that I quickly took a liking to, and the last time I
visited I purchased a bottle of Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak.
Now usually I only enjoy taking bubble baths with Lush products, but I just needed to try this one out for size.
Appearance:
The thing about the Soap & Glory items is that they come packaged
in such feminine retro labels that you can't help but to stop and see
what they are all about. I'll admit it myself, I only took a sniff of
this product simply because I loved the label slapped on to it.
Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak comes in a plastic stand
up bottle, that is actually quite large at 16.9 ounces. The label has a
beautiful black and white retro photo of a woman laying out relaxed in
her tub surrounded with frothy foamy bubbles. Even if the liquid inside
of the bottle sucked, I would say it's worth a buy just to for the
bottle.
Inside of the bottle you can clearly see that it is filled with pink liquid with a runny jelly like texture to it.
The one thing I don't love about Soap & Glory Calm One,
Calm All Body Soak is that the bottles cap is a screw off cap, and it
does not give you a whole lot of control when pouring the gel into your
bath.
Tipping it too much and you could easily end up pouring the whole
thing into the tub. A click up cap/squeeze bottle would have been a bit
easier to use.
Description:
Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak is meant to be used as a
bubble bath. Using it is supposed to provide smoothing, and soothing to
your skin.
Me; I personally planned on using it not only for bubble baths, but I
also planned on using it as a body was as well for when I wanted a
shower and not a bath.
Scent:
Soap & Glory smells simply divine. It has a powdery rose like
scent to it, and reminds me of the way newborn babies smell. Soft,
subtle, and heavenly is the only way to truly describe Soap & Glory.
With the scent aside though, I wondered how well it would work when
used as a bubble bath. I got home and ran some water, I poured a fair
amount of the soap under running water and watched as the froth of
bubbles began to quickly produce on the waters edge.
In all I used about 4 or 5 capfuls of Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm
All Body Soak, and when my bath was fully drawn I was pretty surprised
at how many bubbles it made. Most liquid gels I have used before don't
really give much when it comes to bubbling up.
I hopped in, and enjoyed my deliciously scented bubble bath. Soap
& Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak does in fact live up to its
promises. It turns the water into a silky textured cup of tea, and felt
lovely on my skin. The scent is also present throughout the air as you
soak.
The down side of this whole glorious bubble bath though was that the
bubbles died off in around 10 minutes. Now for me, that is a fair amount
of time for bubbles to last, but I have used bath products that have
had bubbles last the entire time I was in the bath, even after draining
the tub, bubbles would be left behind on the walls and around the drain.
This just wasn't the case with Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body
Soak.
The next day I decided to give Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All
Body Soak a go as a body wash. It worked pretty well! A very small sized
drop on my bath loofah and I was in heaven. Bubbles form very easily on
the skin, and the scent fills the room, best of all though is that it
leaves skin feeling very smooth, as it did when I used it as a bubble
bath.
No matter how you use it though; bubble bath, shower gel, or even as
shampoo, Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak leaves behind
it's gorgeous feminine scent for hours, and truly this is what I love
about it most.
Overall:
Although Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body Soak does not
produce the longest lasting bubbles in the world, it leaves behind a
glorious scent, and leaves skin feeling much, much smoother. It does not
dry out skin, nor does it leave behind any sort of residue.
I highly recommend this one to bath lovers, or those who just love long lasting feminine scents.
Where To Buy:
You can pick up a bottle of Soap & Glory Calm One, Calm All Body
Soak at Target, or Target.com for only $9.99. 16.9 ounces of formula
should last you quite a few months, so it's definitely a deal in my
opinion.
