Trendy and Edgy Hair Styles for Girls with Short Hair

I have had both long hair and short hair in my lifetime. I have gone from extremely long butt-length hair to extremely short ear length hair. Although I find shorter hair harder to maintain, I was able to do a lot of fun and edgy things with my shorter hair that I could not do with my longer hair.

One trend-setting and unique look is to add cute short spikes. Getting spikes into short hair is not very hard, especially if the hair is really short.

Adding some gel, or manipulating wax to short hair allows you to pretty much style it in any way you want. FX gels and hair wax work the best for when you are looking for super hold.

Got2b got2b Glued Styling Spiking Glue is another hair product that I would recommend if you really want to spike it up. This glue will really spike up your hair, and hold it in place.

For some real edge though you can add in some temporary wash out colors, like bright blues, purples, reds, or greens.

A particular product that will do just that is Streekers. With Streekers you can add a dazzling bold color to your hair. You can streak it, chunk it, or mix different colors to it.

If you want to add some temporary blond highlights try Jerome Russell's Bblonde Temporary Highlight Spray.

This spray will allow you to add really blond highlights to your hair, which will wash out. Its a pretty interesting product to give a try, especially if you have been considering real blond highlights. Know before you go!

You can also add some glitter gel to these colors for some really edgy 'look at me' hair. Glitter hair gel is relatively hard to come by in stores, but it can be purchased online by clicking here.

Special clip in hair gems could also be added to short hair for a cute edgy look. If your hair is too short for clips, than you can go with some rhinestone bobby pins. Rhinestone Cherry's are very in when it comes to hair accessories. You can find a cute assortment of them by visiting this website.

Other trendy looks for your shorter hair would be to include a cute cloth or plastic skull themed headband. There are many different styles to choose from, such as these which are sold at the Halloween store. Hot Topic is another store or online store that you can find some really edgy hair accessories. Visit Hot Topic's online store by clicking here. There is sure to be something that you will fancy.

There are really a lo of choices for styling shorter hair. If you have bangs towards the front you could pull them to the side and flatten them down tightly to your scalp using gel, or hair glue, or you could puff up your short hair for an afro type look simply by blow drying your hair and messing it up with some hair spray.

Go crazy and be imaginative, that's the key.
